We take our cider seriously here. Pride of place goes to our very own Lamb & Serpent — a medium sweet, organic farmhouse scrumpy pressed from over forty varieties of Devon apples, grown in ancient and new orchards nearby. A gentle cider with bite, as we like to say!
Alongside it you’ll find Reddaway’s Medium Farmhouse and Dry Scrumpy — proper West Country cider, made from 100% pure apple juice and nothing else — and Hunt’s Bull Walloper, named after the cattle dealers who fortified themselves with a pint before the livestock sales. All made the traditional way, pressed with care, and best enjoyed slowly.
Sam Smith’s Bottles
For something a little different, we also stock bottles from Samuel Smith’s of Tadcaster — Yorkshire’s oldest brewery and one of the oldest craft breweries in the world, brewing since 1758. Ales, stouts, fruit beers and even an organic cider and perry, all the way from God’s own county. We won’t hold that against them.
